High School

Aspetuck Valley Rugby U-19 Rugby has both male and female clubs. Indoor training starts on Sundays in February at 31 Pecks Lane, Newtown. These sessions are for 90 minutes and are conditioning, ball handling, and technique training.

The Boys are coached by Director of Coaching, Ray Weiner, Associate Head Coaches Naulia Dawai, Filimoni Waqainabete and Chris Para.

The Girls are coached by Club President John O'Neill, and Associate Head Coach Carolyn Roach aka Coach C.

Ages

The USA Youth & High School Rugby registration runs from Sept 1 to Aug 30th.

For 2025-26 season: birthdates after September 2, 2006

When

The 15s rugby season for all age groups runs from Mar 1 to June 15th approx.

HS Training starts indoors in February 1, 2026 at 31Pecks Lane in Newtown.

Practices

February indoor: Once a week on Sundays

March - Apr: 2-3 times per week 5 - 6:30 pm, normally Mon, Wed & Thurs

Apr - June: 3 times per week, 5:30 - 7:30pm, normally Mon, Wed & Thurs

Games

Both HS Boys and Girls can play anywhere from 15 games to 20 games per season. This includes shortened tournament games.

Jerseys

Jerseys are supplied and returned after each game.

Club provides shorts and socks.

Extra Costs

We try to keep registration fees on the lower side. It covers the training fees, game fees, referees, trainers, and post game meals.

Additional fees are normally hotels for away tournaments and some travel depending on how much money we are able to fundraise.

We request families donate snacks/drinks for our home games - signups will be coordinated by the Team Moms for each game.
